I love Hakka and it's the one food type I missed the most since relocating from Toronto. I've discovered that Hakka varies from cities..Toronto's is different than Hamilton, which is different than Scarborough. Needless to say, for my first order I stuck to traditional dishes I'm familiar with. It is very different to what I've had before, but still excellent. I ordered Chilli Chicken Dry Spicy Garlic Chicken (in gravey) Hakka Chow Mein Chicken Fried Rice. Chilli Chicken - rich combination of flavours with fantastic heat. Spicy Garlic Chicken - the flavours were rich and complex. Loads of garlic. Hakka Chow Mein - spicy. The hottest I've ever had from a restaurant. Excellent. Chickwd Fried Rice - we went for this dish as someone in the group doesn't like spicy...he couldn't eat it, he found it too hot, while the rest of us couldn't detect any heat. All in all, very happy with food portion size and quality. We also ordered Szechuan Pakoras, but got a call from the restaurant advising they weren't available until after 4. Will try them on the next visit. Received a follow up call about 2 hours later asking how we found their food. Great initiative. If you enjoy Hakka, this is a pretty solid restaurant.
